Saturday Spotlight – Nitrome

Nitrome Limited, founded by Mat Annal and Heather Stancliffe, is an independent game producer for their website, www.nitrome.com.

Unlike most gaming websites, Nitrome publishes only games created by their company. Each game can be played for free, and their seven-year run has produced a little over 100 games. New games are released on a monthly basis, and have received critical acclaim for their style and originality.

I would highly recommend this website to anyone who loves classic Super Nintendo games, or to anyone wanting to play family friendly flash games.

Not sure where to start? Try these:

Rubble Trouble – Your goal is to safely demolish buildings in a variety of locations using cannons, bombs, and helicopters.

Mutiny – Can you defeat all other pirates and become captain of the seas? Fight gangs of sharks, hippies, and even skeletons using molotov cocktails, voodoo dolls, and tidal waves!

Icebreaker – A puzzle game unique from any other. Your vikings have become lodged in frozen ice and it’s up to you to save them!  Slash away chunks of ice to rescue your frozen comrades.
